Qi gong
What does Qi gong mean?

“Qi” means life force energy and “gong” means work or cultivation. Qi gong means the cultivation of energy or energy work. In addition, Qi is the basis of everything in the Universe – things we can touch (substance) as well as things we can’t touch (etheral).

What experience do I need to start practicing Qi gong?

None at all – Qi gong may be done by all ages, at any fitness level. Qi gong is an ancient healing art that may be modified to meet the individual’s level. As you practice, it increases energy in a gentle, natural way.  As the blockage are removed, the circulation and energy flows freely throughout the body and mind which improves overall well-being.

It is true that Qi gong is practiced by many older people, but it certainly isn’t just for old people?

Qi gong practices build health, vitality and resilience – this is useful for everyone, young and old. Many athletes practice Qi gong as a way to gain an edge in their performance.

Does it really work?

Evidence demonstrates that Qi gong activates the body's natural healing intelligence and is an effective addition to treatment of illness as well as being used as a preventative and restorative medicine.

How much do I need to move?

Qi gong consists of slow flowing movements, self-massage and breath work. With consistent practice, Qi gong helps to improve posture and balance, awakens the brain, calms the mind and stimulates circulation and energy throughout the body for better health. Choose to be happy, healthy and calm by practicing Qi gong. You can do the movements by standing or at a seated position.
